Hello My 4 fans (initially two, and now four)!
I'm finally back after like, 5-ish years of inactivity? I quit 3D Art for around a year after making this account, got back into it and then completely forgot I even had a Newgrounds account for the next few years. I'm a bit embarrassed posting here feeling as though I haven't improved much in those few years I've been gone, but whateverrrr who gaf.
preamble about art progress shit:
I feel as though only in the past 6 months of My 5 year 3D art journey have I grown to actually start doing semi-good work. Previously alot of my work was very boring, (No textures, unambitious, unfinished, just no sauce basically, complete nothingburger.) I was stuck in my comfort zone and didn't wanna get out of it. It wasn't until recently where I stopped being content with abysmal dogshit and started working harder to improve My skills. Most of this I can attribute to actually sharing My work and having supportive friends.
I'd always been super embarrassed of sharing any artwork, always waiting for this imaginary day where I'd be "good enough" to blow everyone's minds and be seen as a good artist. But by depriving myself of any satisfaction that comes from sharing art, and always holding off on it til I made a piece I deemed "good-enough" I ended up stunting myself. Nothing was ever good enough to me, and nothing would've proved that those 5 years were spent well, and that's FINE because they weren't spent well. If I just accepted that earlier instead of constantly coping then I would've been much further along. Sure I wasted 5 years but I'm working now and that's what matters.
so basically... Share. Your. ART!!! Trust me when I say you'll find so much more joy in being able to share your art than giving yourself this fake pressure that you have to produce something that impresses people. It's such a massive weight lifted off your shoulders when you can finally accept where you're at and start working to improve that.
ANYWAYS onto actual art stuff LOL
Onto the big stuff, I'm participating in this years low-poly day- or atleast making an attempt to. I won't lie trying to do a minute-long animation when you've only got 10 days to do it is quiteee ambitious, especially for someone as inexperienced as me when it comes to rigging, animating, and environment art, but either way I'm going to push through to the best of My ability and try to have SOMETHING out by June 6th. Here's a few sneak peeks of work I've done so far. I'd really like to dive more into the process of this as I work on it, so expect blog posts about this project over the coming days.
